STAR OF BENGAL (2017)


To foster the talents in Bengal, Turnstone Global is going to host an All Bengal Talent Hunt & Carnival under the title of “Star of Bengal” covering the length and breadth of our Bengal.


The selection procedure of “Star of Bengal “will be completed in 3 stages as per the following.



Screening level :


At first applications will be invited from all desired participants
Secondly all applications will be shortlisted by our renowned Judges.
Selected candidates will be informed to participate in the next Level i.eZonal Level
To qualify for the Zonal Level the candidate will have to score more than 80 percent marks.


Zonal Level:


This level of the competition will take place within the specified zone, In this level the candidate will have to be appear physically at our pre-informed venue to perform or showcasing their talent. Submission of recorded performance in electronic/digital format for this level will not be entertained.
The first 10 candidates will be chosen from this ZONAL LEVEL to compete in the FINALLEVEL.


Grand Finale:


Grand Finale will take place during the month of April/May in Kolkata through a mega event and carnival.
In this round all the selected participants from the Zonal level will take part.


Language:


All the participants will have to file their competition item only in English, Hindi and Bengali. No other language will be entertained.


Competition category:


The competition will be held in 8 categories.


  1. 1. Classical music: Such as Ghazals, Bhajans, RabindraSangeet, NazrulGeeti, or any song which had been recorded before 1970. The candidates will have to record their voice without music in a CD. The recording should not be more than 5 minutes. The candidates will have to submit the recorded CD along with the duly filled up form.

  2. 2. Contemporary music: Such as Film song, Modern Song, The candidates will have to record their voice without music in a CD The recording should not be more than 5 minutes. The candidates will have to submit the recorded CD along with the duly filled up form.

  3. 3. Indian Dance: Such as Bharatanatyam,Manipuri, Khatthak, Odishi, RabindraNrittyo etc. The recording should not be more than 8 minutes. The candidates will have to record their performance in a CD. The candidates will have to submit the recorded CD along with the duly filled up form.

  4. 4. Western Dance: Such as Jazz, Rock, Hip-hop, Fusion etc. The candidates will have to record their performance. The recording should not be more than 8 minutes. The candidates will have to record their performance in a CD. The candidates will have to submit the recorded CD along with the duly filled up form

    1. 5. Recitation: Any Poem. The candidates will have to record their voice without music. The recording should not be more than 8 minutes. The candidates will have to record their performance in a CD. The candidates will have to submit the recorded CD along with the duly filled up form.

  5. 6. Photography: The theme of photography should be related with the happening events inour society or nature and wildlife The candidates will have to submit the CD along with the duly filled up form.

  6. 7. Beauty with Brain: In this category the smartness and attitude will be judged along with the level of his/her intelligence. The candidate will have to send his/her personal photograph along with the duly filled up form with a short write up within 200 words about his / her goal in life.

  7. 8. Creative writing: Everyone has a story, what is yours? Bengal is the land of innumerable stories that pass through generations to generations. So pick up your pen write down your own original short story (word limit 1500 words) with your vivid imaginations.
    If story is not your cup of tea and you like poems don’t worry you also have an option …submit your original poem of any genre. But keep in mind word limit for poems is 200 words only.

Age Group: The competition will take place among the following age group:



  1. • Group-A – 5 to 7 years

  2. • Group-B – 8 to 11 years

  3. • Group-C – 12 to 15 years

  4. • Group-D – 16 to 18 years

  5. • Group-E – 19 to 30 years


PRIZES:


We have 3 prizes (1st/2nd/3rd) for all the groups.

For the music and recitation category,apart from the prizes a dedicated CD; of all “Star of Bengal” (i.e. 5 best performers) will be released.
For creative writing category apart from the prizes a book written by all “Star of Bengal” (i.e. 5 best performers) will be published dedicated to their writing.
For dance category opportunities will be given to all “Star of Bengal" (i.e. 5 best performers) to perform in three big upcoming mega events.
The total event will be covered by all renowned Digital Medias and Print Medias.


All the item of the competition will be judged by the renowned celebrities who will chair of our panel of juries.

Rules and Regulations


As the first step, the Organiser is calling for Entries (defined below) from the Participants (defined below) for the auditions of the different Events in the cities which shall be determined and notified to the participants by Turnstone Global “Selection Process” in due time.


Following details are the rules and regulations for the registration and selection procedures of your possible participation in the event that you have been chosen by the Organiser for the auditions/final event.

  1. • Minimum age of entry is 5 years;

  2. • Participant(s) should hold Indian Citizenship with valid proof of citizenship.

  3. • The Participant(s) must not be disqualified by law as per Indian judiciary and should not have any criminal record.

  4. • The Parent/Gurdian of the Participant(s) shall register on behalf of the minor Participants to enable their participation in the Program in the manner prescribed hereinafter and shall enable the minor Participant(s) to do such acts as specified hereafter.

    1. • Turnstone Global shall be entitled to verify the entries or seek for such proof from the Registrant(s) as shall be necessary in respect of the entries at any time.

  5. • Our renowned panel of juries will put their valuable judgement as per the rules and regulations of the Program. The decision of the Turnstone Global or where appropriate, the judges shall be treated as final.

  6. • For clarity purpose, even after final selection for the Program, Turnstone Global shall have the absolute right to replace any of the Participant(s) as per their sole discretion and creative requirement.

  7. • All costs incurred by the Registrant(s) for their child/children and themselves including traveling, accommodation or food and the arrangements for the same and no claims for the same shall be made against Turnstone Global.

  8. • Turnstone Global shall not be held liable in the event of any injury in terms of physical or mental harm caused to the Registrant(s) and/or Participant(s) during their performance.

  9. • No Prodigy of the employee of Turnstone Global will take part in this competition.

All participants shall be deemed to be in agreement with the Rules and Regulations on the basis of the Participant’s agreement to these rules and regulations. Please note one participant can register for multiple discipline but if an individual participant makes multiple entries for one discipline, only the first entry shall be consider of towards the Selection Process.


The Participants hereby agree that they are participating by their own free will. There is no monetary or other gratification (actual or promised) offered by the Organiser for participating in the Program. The Participants understand that this is a competition and the judging criteria and process shall be as per the format of the Program which has been decided by the Organiser and the Participants agree to be bound by such process. The Participants understand that the Organiser has the sole discretion in deciding whether a Participant goes through for the on-ground auditions and thereafter for the main part of the Program and, in the spirit of the competition, understand that they may not be chosen or may be eliminated and undertake not to take any action against the Organiser or the producer for such non-selection elimination. By participating in the Call for Entries, all Participants acknowledge that if selected for the auditions, they will have to make themselves available for the same; and if selected after such auditions towards participation in the Program, they will have to make themselves available for the shoot and publicity of the Program anywhere in India, at their own cost and expense, as required by the Organiser and as agreed by the Participants in the release letters, rules and regulations for participation, etc., which shall be intimated and provided to the Participants at various stages of the Program. Any Participant unwilling to adhere to the terms of the Organiser at any stage in relation to this Program shall not be permitted to participate or feature in the Program.


Participant(s) should carry the print out of the receiving copy of submission mail and selection mail at the time of zonal selection.
