There has always been a substantial gap between the demand and availability of blood at various blood banks in West Bengal. This scarcity intensifies during summer months. In view of this gap between demand and availability, Turnstone Global organises multiple blood donation camps to reduce the scarcity.
On February 2, 2021, one such blood donation camp was organised at Shyamnagar. The local CBO –– was chosen as partner for publicity and local arrangement. Ashok Blood Bank and Indian Association for Blood Cancer & Allied Diseases teamed up with us to collect blood from voluntary blood donors at this camp. A total of 168 donors voluntarily donated blood at this camp. As a token of appreciation, the donors were provided a wrist watch. Subsequently, both Ashok Blood Bank and Indian Association for Blood Cancer & Allied Diseases provided Donor Cards to all the donors.
Turnstone Global organise this kind of Blood Donation Camps on regular basis. On an average, we organise one such camp in interval of every two months. In 2020– 2021, 604 units of blood were being collected.
