Modern man exchange currency against the supply of goods and services. But sometimes the buyer feel cheated. The government of India has formulated Indian consumer act in 1986. Under this act any person notice deficiency or discrepancies in goods and services, he/she can knock the door of consumer court. Unfortunately there is vast number of buyers in our country who are poor and cannot file a case against the seller due to lack of money.
Turnstone Global with Government of West Bengal, Department of Consumer Affairs has set up two consumer assistant Bureaus in North and South Kolkata to help the poor consumer to file the case on their behalf.
Under this program we have the following activities:
After receiving the case the lawyer analyses the case
Lawyer files the case in free of cost
Lawyer attends all the hearing
Final order is made by the court
If not satisfies the lawyer goes for appeal in higher judiciary
Story from the field :
“I gifted a beautiful sari from my first income to my mom on her 50th birthday. My mom never wear such an expensive sari as my dad works as an auto driver. While wearing the sari my mother noticed a tear in the sari. I went to the shop. The shop keeper denied to exchange the stuff. My mom cried like anything. I was also upset. Next day I went to consumer assistant Bureau run by Turnstone Global. The lawyer of Turnstone Global over there file a case on my behalf. Within 9 months the case is settled in court with a decree of brand new sari with a compensation of Rs.1250. I sincerely thank to Turnstone Global Team. Many persons are getting relief through their Bureau
