Library services for the Physically Challenged people at Tripura
Successfully established physically challenged corner at
- Birchandra State Central Library – Agartala
- Nazrul Granthagar at North District Public Library
- Unakuti District Public Library
- Dharamnagar District Library and
- Khowai District District Library
- All these libraries have been made disable friendly by setup special sitting arrangements and furniture.
- All these libraries are completely equipped with CD Players and Computers loaded with JAWS Taking Software to access to the Digital Audio Books.
These accessible libraries for Physically Challenged was supported by Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF)
In appreciation of our work, the Honourable C.M of Tripura Sri Manik Sarkar has donated 4 bighas of land at Narsingara, Agartala to set up a Multi-Disciplinary unit for the Disabled.
Establishment of 7 Braille Libraries in 7 Blind Schools
Turnstone Global with its corporate partner Amway India has established 7 Braille Libraries in 7 Blind Schools in Eastern India namely, Tripura, Mizoram, Odisha, Bihar, Aasam, Siliguri and Kolkata.
Every library had been equipped with disabled friendly furniture, accessible computers with Jaws Taking Software, Text and story books in Braille and Audio books worth INR 7 lakhs.
Approximately 873 Visually impaired students are getting benefit from these modern libraries.
