Ullas – The Women Empowerment Project:
Keeping the faith on the ideology -An empowered women can build a powerful nation. Turnstone Global launched a project called ‘Ullas’ on 18 th September 2017 at Mahajati Sadan, Kolkata with a vision to provide training to 100000 girls among the age group of 18-40 in next 10 years with a ratio 10000 girls in each year and after completion the training Turnstone Global will help the candidates to find their livelihoods either through placement in different industries or generating self-employment through micro-entrepreneurship.
The aim of the project is to empower the marginalised women of our society who are school dropouts, semi-skilled and unskilled through improvements of the employ ability.
The main objective of the project:
- To enhance the capacity of deprived women.
- To develop and improve life through skill development in order to play their desired role in their family and society.
- Helping women to eke out their own living.
- Creating women entrepreneur.
- Forming self-help group.
- Supporting them with bank linkages and micro financing.
- Developing marketing linkages.
- Developing networks with likeminded organizations.
- Developing women as role model for the society.

Major Activities:
After successful completion of the training, an entrepreneurship development training programme is being conducted for every trainee to develop their soft skills like attitude, behaviour, marketing skills, and help them to establish linkages with different financial institutions who wants to start their own entrepreneurship with the following are the Stages.
- Issuing the Certificate
- Starting placement cell to advocate their skills to different industry for recruitment
- Starting the Production cum Training Center
- Linkage with financial institutions
- Market linkages
- Participation in fair, exhibition with productive items on the respective trades, and sharing the views

With limited participation in the workforce, the potential of women remains untapped. Turnstone Global with effective implementation of the Project –Ullas is trying to make them key stakeholders in the development of our country.
